Cynthia Burkhead is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama, where she specializes in such diverse subjects as Film and Television, Folklore, Anglophone Studies, and 20th Century American Literature.
Cynthia was born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She has also lived in Monterey, California; West Berlin, Germany; and St. Louis, Missouri. Cynthia has resided in Alabama since 1997.
In addition to being a teacher and scholar, Cynthia is a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and craftswoman. She collects action figures and clocks. She builds houses with Habitat for Humanity.
